Shak Khan, Council Member, District 4, was first elected to the Lodi City Council in November of 2020. 

Biography

In 1994, Council Member Shak Khan and his family emigrated from Pakistan to Lodi when he was five-years-old. He attended George Washington Elementary School, Lodi Middle School and graduated from Lodi High School in 2007. After graduating, Council Member Khan attended San Joaquin Delta College and studied Medical Assisting at Lincoln Technical Academy. He earned his Medical Assistant Certification from Lincoln Technical Academy, and he worked in the medical field. Council Member Khan also worked overseas as a US military contractor.

Upon completing his time as a US military contractor, Council Member Khan returned to Lodi and became an entrepreneur opening a convenience store in Stockton. Council Member Khan owns several rental properties located on Lodi's Eastside. In 2019, he purchased the historic Round House Tavern and is renovating the building to bring jobs back to Lodi's Eastside.

Council Member Khan is a member of the Stockton Rotary Club, the American Pakistani Association and has volunteered with the non-profit Homeless Food Drive organization.

In his first run for political office in November of 2020, Council Member Shak Khan received almost forty percent of the vote in a four-candidate field that including a four-term incumbent. He represents Lodi's newly-drawn Fourth City Council District, whose northern boundary is Lockeford Street, with Sacramento Street as the western border, Cherokee Lane to the east, and the southern edge is Kettleman Lane.

Council Member Khan and his wife have been married for eleven years and are the proud parents of two school-age children.
