Do you need some help with your reading and writing?

  • Be 16 years or over, not enrolled in high school
  • Work one to one with a trained volunteer tutor
  • Be able to speak some English
  • Meet at least 2 hours per week with your tutor

Adult learners in Lodi, together with volunteer tutors, improve their reading and writing skills so they can be more effective in their everyday lives at home, at work, and in their communities. An estimated 21%* of adults in Lodi need help with basic reading and writing skills. Many adults have trouble with everyday tasks like reading a medicine label or writing a check. Imagine being able to read a book for the first time, voting, or taking a promotion instead of turning it down.
