Due to concerns about the misuse of library card information, the Lodi Public Library requires that patrons have their library cards in hand in order to check out materials, use the computers, renew their cards, put money on their cards for copying, or effect any other library transaction. Library staff are not permitted to provide library card numbers or perform any library functions using a patron's personal ID.
Any adult 18 years of age and older who is a resident of the State of
California can be issued a Lodi Library card. Valid picture ID and proof of a
permanent address is required. The preferred ID is a California Driver’s License
or a California ID. A passport, military ID, or green card can also be
used. A student ID can be used if the student is 18 or over.
Proof of address: A document with the person’s name and address printed
on it is also required as proof of address if the address on the picture ID is
different than your current address. Acceptable documents could include a
utility bill, rent receipt, recent mail received, a printed check, or car
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or
legal guardian with valid photo ID/proof of address.
Adults and children who want to use the public computers and do not wish to
check-out any materials may apply for an Internet card. Adults must provide a
valid picture ID for themselves and their children. Proof of permanent
address is not required.
